New Voluntary Life Guidelines

Texas Life is pleased to announce several enhancements to our voluntary life worksite guidelines effective for offers made after March 1, 2005.

  • For Express Issue cases, the employee will no longer be required to apply for coverage on his/her own life in order to apply for coverage on family members:

    • Coverage on Spouses — when the employee does not apply for personal coverage on himself, he may apply for the minimum policy amount on the spouse using Express Issue guidelines. Of course, when the employee does apply for coverage on his/her own life, the maximum Express Issue amount is also available on the spouse.
    • Coverage on Children — Express Issue is now available on children even when the employee does not apply for personal coverage.
    • Coverage on Grandchildren — Express Issue is now available on grandchildren.

We have lowered the maximum issue age for children from 25 to 18.

The Chart below summarizes the new guidelines. A Preliminary Case Approval Form and prior Home Office written approval is required before you solicit applications.

Remember: The new guidelines apply to offers made after March 1, 2005.
